vRealize Operation Manager 6 has a maintenance mode option that puts everything into maintenance mode. However, what if you just wanted to send just a single object or a group of objects on maintenance mode only. The following steps will allow you to put a single object (VM, datastore, host, etc) under maintenance mode which will allow it to temporary stop collecting data.

Click on Administration > Inventory Explorer

Select an Object on the right side and click on the Start Maintenance icon

Enter the maintenance schedule and click on OK
- Note: The Collection Status will disappear when it is in maintenance mode. It will reappear once you take the object off maintenance mode.
