vSphere 6 – Fault Tolerance Configuration Guide (Part 2)

Preparing the Host for Fault Tolerance

 

  1. Click on Home > Host and Clusters

     

  2. Select a host and click on Manager > Networking > VMkernal adapters >

     

  3. Select VMkernel Network Adapter and click on Next

     

     

  4. Choose Select an existing network and click on Browse

     

     

  5. Select the Fault Tolerance port group we selected earlier and click on OK

     

  6. Click on Next

  8. Select Fault Tolerance logging


     

     

  9. Select Use static IPv4 settings and click on Next

     

  10. Click on Finish

     

  11. You should now see your new VMkernel adapter

  12.  

     

  13. Repeat these Same Procedure for each host you want to Enable Fault Tolerance

 

 

 

 

How to confirm your Host is ready for Fault Tolerance

 

  1. Click on Home > Host and Clusters

     

     

  2. Select Host > Summary and under Configuration verify that Fault Tolerance displays Supported

 

Now we need to enable Fault Tolerance to our Virtual Machine (Part 3)
